Meetings

Visiting at the park.

Feeding the ducks.

The Rutherfords serving in Romania.
The Bible Study went well Thursday evening.  We had two first time visitors.  A lady came that met me at the market.  She brought a friend from her that was from Israel.  They seemed very excited about the work and were looking forward to meeting with us next week.  The market went well on Friday morning.  There were just a few regulars who stopped by the stand.  Saturday we had a picnic at the park with a couple of other parents.  We had a good time and were able to visit with them. We also recognized a lady that Angie had met in the Doctors office waiting room while she was pregnant.  We were able to talk with here some and exchange contact information as well.  Sunday services went well.  We spent the afternoon preparing the house for our friends from Romania coming in.  We did get to catch the services at Walnut Street, there was another preacher filling in for my father, who was preaching revival services for another church.  The fill-in preacher was pastor of the church were I was an intern and he did an excellent job.  Our friends arrived without problem and we enjoyed spending the evening catching up with them.  On Monday we took them to the Walled city of Carcassonne, ate at KFC, and did some shopping.  They left this morning to head back to Romania.  Only a few more days of vacation left.  Enjoy the pictures and God bless, JASON

Day 4 without Angie

My day went well. I made the kids pancakes this morning for breakfast. Afterwards, I worked some more on a promotional video that I have been making. After sandwiches for lunch, we headed to the language school to play, after being there for maybe thirty minutes, Andrew had a dirty diaper, of course I forgot to bring extra, so we walked back to the house. While I was changing him at the house, I got a call from some friends inviting us to come to the language school and play with their kids. So we headed back to the language school. We had a good time playing and visiting. We had hot dogs with Chili for supper, the chili came today in a package from my parents. Many thanks! I'm letting the kids watch a movie and hope to get them to bed early because they are showing signs of tiredness. Attached is a picture Angie took of two books that belonged to Martin Luther. They were taken at a Lutheran Church in Paris. God bless, JASON

We are in France.

I have to remind myself of that fact sometimes. We have been having a good time this week. We took the kids to the park and let them play a couple of times. They have been playing real good together. Angie went and bought all the boys shoes for schools and some clothes. The school supply list should be small. The government purchases some of the school supplies. I need to check out and see of the air matress works today. That would be a good opportunity to get a nap. Tommorrow Angie mentioned taking the kids into to do something. There is a large and nice park that we could take them too. I'll have to look today to see the best way to get there. I also need to make sure that the subway is running for all of it. This time of year they sometimes shut down lines for construction and maitenance. Sadly I have not been able to catch another USA Olympic basketball game. There has always been French Atheletes competing, I did see 16 seconds before they switched to another event. I have not missed much from what the score card is saying. Yesterday I was reading in 1 Peter and chapter 1 verse 7 interested me. Summarized it says that the trial of our faith is more precious that gold. Gold even if it is purified with fire does not last, but our purified faith will result in glory, honor, and praise when Christ returns. Do you have faith in Jesus? Is your faith growing through trials or is it suffering. It is amazing to look back and see how our faith has grown through trials that where our faith will take us in the future. Pictured are the boys with there new shoes and Caleb and me relaxing. God bless, JASON

Another vacation.

The weather has been wonderful around here. The past few days have been great. It was slightly hot inside at times but real nice outside. On our day off yesterday we went to a couple of parks and let the kids play. Going to parks is also a great visitation as well. Last Sunday afternoon we went to a park and spoke with a young couple as our kids played. We hope that we can see them next sunday as well. The holiday yesterday went good. There were a lot of flags up and a small parade passed through town. The holiday was for celebrating the end of World War II (May 8, 1945). We have another holiday on Monday. We have enough homework to make up for it though. We planned on eating chicken and dumplings tonight but our chicken went bad when our electricity was out, so instead we made our second trip out to eat in 5 months. We went the the sandwich shop next door to us. The food was good and inexpensive and it was real great getting to know our neighbors. They were real nice and sociable, then even gave the kids suckers afterwards. Hopefully we can stop in and talk more often. The owner is a muslim and needs to hear about Jesus. God bless, JASON

Last Days of Vacation

Today has been a good Sunday. We are savoring every hour we have left of our vacation. Tomorrow it is back to school for everyone. Services this morning went well with the newly established church. They are mature and it is a blessing to be with them. This afternoon when we went to a nice new park we found near our appartment. After a little bit a family arrived with a boy Caleb's age. I was trying to get Caleb to go play with him and the other mom was trying to get her son to play with Caleb. Caleb was being a little shy and so was the other little boy but after they played together on the playground for less than a minute they were ready to play ball together. Later they had another son arrive who was a year older than Lilia. They all played tag with the ball together. I had a nice conversation with the mom and she was nice enough to share some of their drink with my hot sweaty very red-faced boys. They seemed to be a very interresting couple and I would like to get to know them more. I hope we will meet again at the park soon and have more conversations. I don't know what God's plans are but I wonder if these people will hear about Jesus from us. What an amazing thing that would be. She was curious as to why we were working with a church here and not in Texas and of course I shared with her the only explanation for that is God. I guess it is possible we may never see them again but I hope that is not so. Next is to learn how to tell someone all that Jesus means to us in French. I was thrilled at just being able to communicate what I did with them. I'll have to try it again sometime soon.
A great blessing yesterday for us was being able to watch Sarah and Justin's wedding on Skype.(Jason's sister) It was nice getting to "be there" so to speak. We didn't have any sound but it was nice just being able to see. It looked like it went well and I know the newlyweds are happy. Congrats Sarah and Justin!
Lilia is talking with her friend Hannah G. on the phone right now. I think it may be the first time they have spoken since we moved. They are updating each other on all the recent stuff- who's birthday party they went to and what they got and what new toys they have and what their brothers and sisters have been doing and stuff.
And I got to talk to my friend Krys --- It was great and I just want to say Krys, that TEXAS accent sounded GREAT!!NAAAAAAICE - ANGIE
